The book didn't transfer well to kindle for iPad. The fonts were all different and didn't flow in some pages so this made working through the exercises difficult. The section in divorcing was nice but light. I found their article in the wellbeing magazine much more helpful. Glad I didn't spend the 20 or 30 on the paper edition and only 9 on the kindle.Product details

The Tresemers have written a thoughtful and comprehensive guidebook for people who are looking to get married outside of the usual wedding-industrial-complex formula. They have based their book on years of spiritual counseling the many couples they have married. The authors have gone deep into how a wedding ceremony is a transformational process, and why a bride and groom (or bride-bride, groom-groom; it is not a strict hetero-normative book) might want to dive in and answer some relevant questions BEFORE they take their vows. I especially like the 'Interlude' section pp. 115-128, 'Clarifying questions to engage you more deeply'; these questions were so thought-provoking for me and my husband, and led to some key conversations that were important to have before we were married.They have taken apart each of the symbols associated with a wedding ceremony (like rings, flowers, dresses, etc.) and have given useful explanations as to why they are used, and suggestions for keeping it simple or elaborate, according to taste and budget. They have provided many tools and techniques for communicating clearly with a partner, in order to deepen love and understanding.
If terms like 'sacred marriage' and 'spiritual beings' are meaningful to you, then this book will especially resonate.
